My Valuable Home

Home is a secure place of my own,

It's where I'm comfortable in safe zone.

With loved ones to support & guide,

Though family is away, still is by my side.

Home is my place that's calm, still, & clear.

Home is that which has all that I hold dear.

Home is where I feel esteemed to stay,

Ready to return or to revisit any & everyday.

Why Do I Frequently Forget?

What makes me forget some wise words?
"Be the change you want to see".
"Keep your head when others are losing theirs"
I wonder why do I forget frequently?
WOW: Write About Something You Frequently Forget
"An eye for an eye & a tooth for a tooth-
Makes the whole world blind";
Still, why I get caught unaware at times?
Why do these words escape my mind?

Kind Karma

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I'll never do running errands voluntarily for others again,
Because no one appreciates or recognizes my work/pain.
Rather, they feel I'm volunteering as I'll be the one to gain!
I must have ulterior motives to waste my time again & again!

Just because I have helped and supported one person,
Other people- X, Y, Z also demand my time & attention!
My kindness and good-nature goes through examination.
I find myself in an unenviable situation with no solution!

Smart Charger For Smartphone

In today’s tech world, smartphones and gadgets play a major role and are extensively used.
However, these power-hungry devices consume electrical energy and their batteries need to be charged. Smartphone-batteries use more power when all the advanced features like GPS, Wi-Fi etc are turned on. By turning off these features and using the Power-Saving Mode, best usage of smartphone is not possible.
Solution of a 'charger that automatically disconnects itself' can be available in future phones. I often wish the batteries of gadgets were intelligent enough to ensure wireless charging from a variety of available power-sources viz. solar energy, wind energy etc. I do believe that this will be a distant reality with inductive/solar charging for gadgets (in which the gadgets get their required charge from surrounding power-sources). Phone-chargers will then not be needed!

Zero Tolerance For Misinformation

I could have kept mum just like the rest,
And allowed the liars to win the 'contest'.
They called it a 'war'; stooped low & went far.
They said- 'Everything is fair in love & war'.
I could have used my time for my personal gain,
Not 'waste' my resources & go through pain...

My Wow Gadgets

If I could invent a gadget, I'd try to invent-
A gadget that would help me detect lies.
No one can take me for a ride any more!
Thanks to my gadget, I'd be so much wise!

Need a gadget that has the answers I need!
Like where are our car keys or that book?
To know the location of my bag or dress,
My gadget's face is all I need to look!

Wordista Creativa

She thought she knew all the words,
She felt she deserved all the awards.
The proud queen proclaimed another title for self-
'WORDISTA CREATIVA'- her latest book on shelf.

When her subjects didn't have any money,
She felt they could afford milk and honey!
And of course they could buy all what she wrote,
Her books were bestsellers; that's what she thought.

The poor public was busy trying to be savvinomical;
What 'Wordista Creativa' was doing was comical.
She wrote on multiple topics that she felt were vital-
The content had nothing to do with the book-title!

Rasagola Mahotsab

I open our fridge, and luckily there are Rasagolas in store!
When the Rasagola stock gets over, the shops have more!
Hurshi Sahoo's Rasagolas, Jatni, Odisha
Whenever we have visitors viz. when my uncles come,
They bring pots full of Rasagolas that are always welcome!

Rasagola is undoubtedly the object of my affection.
With the sweetness of Rasagolas, life is great fun!

When Fear Made Me Cheer

I was wondering if my life is out of gear.
I heard a knock that was loud and clear.
"Who is at the door? Who is here?"
I heard a rough voice, "I AM FEAR!"

The answer's gravity made me feel giddy.
My eyes opened WIDE, but I wasn't READY.
I couldn't believe my ears; it was heady.
When fear visits, how can one feel steady?

Beware Of Ringing Alarm

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I Wish An Alarm Would Ring Loud And Notify Me Whenever
Any of the following happen; then I'll feel smart & clever!
I Wish An Alarm Would Ring Loud And Notify Me Whenever...
Imagine how much fun it will be if I know for sure,
What others are up to & it'll be less painful to endure.

If person(s) are lying, my alarm would ring for all to hear,
Then, dishonesty and cheating I wouldn't have to bear.

The Mad Woman's Money

Everyone in her neighbourhood was investing in the latest scheme.
Though Rahim Chacha* and Shanu Mama* did not see eye-to-eye, she saw them bonding over cups of tea and passionately discussing about the merits of the scheme.

The audience lapped up every word of the 'experts', who recommended such investment.
Everyone found it hard to stay away from the 'get-rich-quick' investment scheme.

For them, she was the- 'pagli' i.e. 'mad/silly woman'.
They called her so as she was the only one who had not invested even a rupee in the chit fund.
She regularly deposited all her money in her bank-account.
There were too many burdens on her and she wanted to be able to withdraw cash whenever she wanted.
For her, it was wise and safe to have money within her reach.

Karma Is A Bitch

When her overseas business-trip got over three days before the scheduled date, Nina did not inform about it to her husband, Sunny.
This was the right chance to do what she had always wanted to - to surprise Sunny!

She had mentally made elaborate plans.
However, after reaching their apartment, Nina was the one who got surprised.
There were some women's items like hair-clip, cup with lipstick etc. on their table.
Whose gown was lying on their bed?

She was angry to see the key of a brand new car.
"Sunny has bought a car without informing me?"

The Race

“You will take part in the race?” they asked looking concerned.

“Of course, I will!” I answered cheerfully.

They burst out laughing uncontrollably.

I could not understand what the joke was.

While I was busy training for the race, they were busy laughing.

My friend Rosy had full faith in me.

“I love your passion, dedication and confidence, Ashok”, Rosy said as she gently stroked me.

Did she guess how much I loved her?

Rosy was the reason why I looked forward to races.

On the day of the race, she was dressed in a pretty pink gown.

Standing near the finish-line, she signaled the thumbs-up and victory sign to me.

I pledged to run my best race.

They were looking, but I didn’t care. I ran to her anyway.

Meant For Each Other

Rimi was frantically searching all over her room.
She browsed through the pages of the documents and folders in her office-bag.
She just couldn't find the envelope...

It had simply disappeared.
It had a special note that she had written:

Dear Burglar of my heart,
It's tough to stay apart.
There's a lot I'd like to say,
Join me for a date this V'Day.
I'll be there at 'Cafe Forest'!
Drop in at 7 & be my guest!
This note in envelope is my gift!
Let our love-balloon get a lift :)

That Girl In the Train

It was his first day in college.
Sameer was seated in his new class with other students.
Suddenly, a pretty young woman walked in with a register and started calling out their names.
When it was Sameer's turn, and he answered 'Yes Ma'am', she stared at him intently and said, "Sameer means- Hawa ka jhonka (gust of wind)! We have met before in the train, remember Sameer?"
It was his first day in college. ..and she did it again!Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

The Ugly Skin

She was unaware that she was being watched.

She removed the ugly skin she was in, thereby revealing her real beauty that dazzled under the full-moon's light, as she sang in her melodious voice and danced magically unlike any other dancer he had seen.

How To...

He was strolling in the lawn of his hotel,
When he saw the pretty girl on her cycle.

How to win over her love & her heart?
He thought & followed, hit by Cupid’s dart.

She entered a library and so did he.
How to catch her eye? Act crazy?

The Little Santa

Little Mili excitedly came from school.
“Mom guess what? Remember the Story-writing competition I had taken part? I won the first prize- Rs 500!”

“That’s wonderful, dear! How do you plan to spend it?” her Mom asked.

“Tomorrow is Children’s Day. I wish to buy some Parle G biscuit-packets, Note-Copies, Nataraj Pencils & Erasers and distribute amongst the slum children,” said Mili.

Her Mom had tears in her eyes as she hugged Mili.

It was that Special Children's Day programme on Doordarshan that they had together watched a few days ago that had highlighted to the young impressionable mind of Mili how needy some kids are… Many don’t have access to even basic facilities and requirements like Roti, Kapda, Makaan (Food, Clothes, House) leave alone school or education. That day Mili had asked her Mom how they can help the children.

Letter To Mom This Diwali

Dear Mom, I miss you so much...what to say?
Though God has invited you to His heavenly abode,
I have your memories that dazzle everyday.
Distance may separate, but feelings won't erode...

Super Relief

I, Lois Lane, was excited as the President was coming to our newspaper-office & I was to make an important presentation!

I locked myself in the washroom to comb my hair, wash my face & powder my nose – reserved for special occasions like this!
