Some Lessons From My Parents

Humility, Honesty, Hope, Happiness, Helpfulness, Health, Habits... just some of the action-words I learnt from my parents.

I am grateful for the lessons I learnt from them. They have been good examples as they practice what they preach. Their actions have a lot to teach... Upholding the high standards they have set is tough...

Sharing a few of their lessons that have made me who I am-

Be humble- fruit-laden trees bend, while others stand tall!
Don’t be haughty- pride comes before a fall!
Be grateful & do everything happily & heartily.
Be hale & hearty, health is wealth, eat & live healthily.
Healthy-Habits-&-Lifestyle
Adopt Healthy Habits & Lifestyle
If someone is hostile, you don’t have to be the same.
Adhere to rules and be fair in every game.
If you feel hopeless/helpless/hapless, find help at hand.
Upholding honesty and integrity is grand.

Be good, do good - Let the world not hamper your goodness.
Be happy, help others, win hearts & spread happiness.
Heal yourself & others with positivity ANYWAY.
Be a better person, the best version of you everyday!

Concentrate, do your best & hope for the best.
Don’t think of results or feedback while taking a test!
Haate maapi chakhende chala* Measure more, walk less.
Look before you leap; Think before you speak or dress!

Haste makes waste- On quality, no compromise.
Be the nicest person you know & learn & be wise.
Keep hisaab* -maintain accounts & be smart about money.
Bees have to work very hard to gather even a drop of honey.

Earn goodwill and wealth and save for a rainy day.
Keep trying; support & blessings are there everyday.
Many go hungry;  don't waste food- not even a grain.
We create our own heaven & hell with our brain.

Study not for marks, but for love for knowledge.
Simple living & high thinking will give you an edge.
No matter what life offers, sport a hearty smile!
Don’t worry, be happy & never angry or hostile.

Life may hurt, never take disappointments to heart.
Do your duties and honestly play your part.
Be positive, enthusiastic & hopeful; never hopeless.
Hold nice memories; not anger, grudges or sadness.

Don’t fear to sail or to be lost; you’ll reach the coast.
God has been kind; be a kind dost (friend) & host.
Handle life bravely & keep up your head & chin!
It's hard to beat the one, who is confident to win!

Things may be hazy before getting clear!
“Never give up, my dear! Victory is near!”

Never-Give-Up!

While writing this post, I thought whether I should write about my Mom or my Papa, and then settled down to write about how they both have guided and encouraged me to grow into a better and self-reliant person. I'm so blessed & honored

March 1st is celebrated as World Compliment Day.
Thank you for all your love, care, support, motivation & inspiration, Mom & Papa! You are the best! Even if I take a hundred births, I’ll be unable to repay you both... Please do accept my words & poem - my humble compliments.

Note-

I have won some and many I have lost.
For no fault, I have also had to pay a heavy cost.
I never ‘lose’, as I’m always a winner for my family!
Thanks to them I win & Winning Means The World To Me!

Yes, parents impart important lessons to the kids. It's up to the kids how they learn and implement...
As a parent myself now, I find it challenging to step into their shoes!
