Thinking Of Soulmate

When they met by chance on the way,
Sparks flew turning night into day.

It was inexplicable as it was their first meeting.
They were already hooked; no cheating.

After that did they feel everything is all right?
Life felt dark even when there was light...

Things were great when they were together,
Separation was nauseating; it did matter.

THANK YOU DEAR ZINDAGI!

Dear Zindagi*,

I am grateful for the four JUGs in my life! Thank you!
As the years go by, I realize that I have sailed through!
Thanks to my JUGs, all is well & I say cheese!
My JUGs fill my life with love, happiness & peace :)
These special JUGs carry goodness beyond compare.
They are invaluable for me & so precious & rare...

My first JUG is the Lord; Almighty is always there.
I have many reasons to pray; I feel the power & care.
The Lord knows what's best for me, I sense & understand.
I share my prayers & believe in miracles & magic wand!
Everything happens for a reason; Lord is at work 24X7,
The mysterious ways are evident when I find heaven!

Precious Gift

Diamonds are evaluated by their 4 C’s- namely Cut, Clarity, Color & Carat Weight. These 4 C’s determine the value or worth of a Diamond. When these 4 C’s are strong, the background of a Diamond doesn't really matter.
Irrespective of their background (age, race, occupation, nationality...), most women love Diamonds. It is popularly said- "Diamonds are a girl's best-friend."
Considering that it's true, apart from Diamonds and their 4 C’s, most women also love these 4 C’s- Care, Commitment, Connection & Celebration as these four spice up their relationships and enhance their comfort-level and happiness-quotient. Lucky are those who get to experience such bliss.

The news of film-actress -Kareena's pregnancy made Kareena & Saif Ali Khan, the expecting parents, and their well-wishers very happy.
Pregnant women are extra sensitive and emotional. They expect more care. They have sudden and strong cravings. As Kareena is expecting, she is experiencing such a state in real-life. The real-life KareenaPregnancy is different from her reel-life pregnancies that have been much simpler and faster! Pregnant women need to be feel loved and cared. Their happiness is good for the baby’s growth and development.
Anniversaries are special to renew the commitment & marriage-vows. When her hubby was away on their marriage-anniversary and he seemed to have no clue about the day or date, Kareena was disappointed as anniversaries mean a lot to most women. Despite her best efforts, her hubby showed no signs of any remembrance of the event! But, then he indulged her by engaging her to locate his glasses. Imagine her surprise when she 'found' his anniversary gift for her.
He had put his acting skills to good use and surprised her. His thoughtful gift ensured an instant connection of husband and wife.
There's always a thrill in finding something unexpectedly. It's celebration time!
Kareena soon realized her anniversary gift was a sweet combination of the aforementioned 4 C’s of relationships and two things- Diamonds & Surprise!
Kareena flashed her beautiful and dazzling smile as the beauty of the dazzling Diamond set, skillfully crafted by master craftsmen of MalabarGoldAndDiamonds, captivated her!
Kareena felt happy receiving the precious gift that's a great treasure for her- not only as it is made of Diamonds, the most precious & hardest natural material, but also for all the precious 4 C’s mentioned above that keep her relationship going strong.

#KareenasAnniversarySurprise was so nice!
Here's wishing Kareena all the very best!

My Perfect Woman

She was like the rainbow- bright & colourful.
Her radiant smile was so powerful & beautiful.
My day became wonderful when I looked at her.
I was her infatuated oddball next-door-neighbour.

She was warm, gentle & kind with a carefree mind.
I had seen many women, but none were of her kind!
Simple, perky, doe-eyed, curly-haired, slim & tall,
Picture-perfect & statuesque, she was the best of all!

The Blank Notebook

She opened a blank notebook.
Its pages fluttered wildly as if hurriedly reminding her a tale...

It was the same notebook that her grandfather had gifted her.
He had been very happy when she told him that she would write a novel based on their own family.  Her grandfather had promptly handed her the notebook saying, "I know you'll write good things about me!"
"Of course, Grandpa! You will be my novel's hero!"
Shortly after that meeting, her grandfather had passed away.

That was a decade ago.

Go Green And Be Eco-Friendly

Today there's Ganesh Chaturthi and Teacher's Day celebration.
Both Lord Ganesha and Teachers impart knowledge & wisdom.

Planet Earth, Environment and Nature are teachers too.
They have been teaching lessons to me and you.

Sand Art by Sudarsan Pattnaik in Puri, Odisha, India
Environmental destruction has led to climate change,
But, we are yet to learn our lessons, isn't it strange?

When will we recognize the godliness in greenery?
Our world needs more trees to erase the misery.

When Opposites Kissed

Chosen as a WOW post here
I may glow like the moon,
And have the world at my feet.
But, I dream of a great life soon,
My true love I'd love to meet.

You may be an ocean vast,
With mysteries & treasures deep,
But, better share your feelings fast!
With faith, you must take the leap.

We are from different worlds, they say.
Not destined to even come near...
You are on earth, while I'm far away.
Do opposites ever kiss, my dear?

Happily Ever After

Souls had met by a divine fate,
There were tears of joy & laughter.
For entering a bond, they couldn't wait,
They wished to live happily ever after.

When energy & enthusiasm disappeared,
Souls were easily drifting apart faster.
Their relationship boat wasn't steered,
It was eerily sinking; heading for disaster.

Souls far apart in a balancing act, Checking every emotion proudly. Ego's dam burst bidding bye to tact, Lustful souls were crying loudly.

Do Your Best And Win!

Winners never quit; Quitters never win.
Being a Winner (not Quitter) is the target.
The line that separates the two is thin like skin
Efforts will be rewarded; don't fret/forget.

Success is around the corner,
Focus on training; forget the pain.
Be patient & confident forever.
Believe & be ready to regain!

Wishful Thinking

Hello, Old Friend!

Glad to see you! How have you been?
To spend time with you, I'm always keen!
But, for time at hand, signal is seldom green!
In my Wishful Thinking trips I'm often seen!

Distinct places to visit & things to be done-
Transactions & deals to take care, much fun!

Wherever I go, they welcome me with open arms,
It's the power of my desirable personality & charms!

My delicate & pretty dress & my lithe figure excites!
For my attention, there are flirtatious signals & fights!

Caught Red-Handed

How we love and cheer when a movie's wronged hero or heroine swears to catch the villain "red-handed" and actually manages the same! However, there's difference between reel and real life.

Perhaps an 'Angry Young Man' or 'Supergirl' can ensure the villains getting caught red-handed in real life too.

I feel if people knew that they were sure to be caught red-handed and heavily punished, then they would never attempt anything terrible. No untoward incident would have happened as no one would have dared to indulge in any wrong-activity.

What You Don't Know

"Are you sure you have revealed everything to me truthfully?" she asked him gingerly.

Sometimes she felt as if she were a lawyer gathering alibi to present to the judge at a High Court & acquit him of all the false charges!

He laughed as though he had read her mind.

"I told you my side of the story. Now what you don't know can't hurt you", he smartly said, not really satisfying her curiosity.

"Come on, dear. I just wanna know where were you this evening... With whom?...Doing what?" she asked this at one go mustering all the courage she could manage.

She had been at her wit's end trying to reach her husband and his phone was either not reachable or switched off.

She was relieved when he finally rang the door-bell at 11:30 PM, but was upset to be greeted with a strong smell of alcohol.

He had always been a teetotaler...

She thanked her stars that at least he had driven & reached home safely. Then, she remembered that he hadn't taken their car to office that day.

Also, she noticed that he was wearing the same Orange sneakers that a lady colleague named Suhana (whom she despised) had gifted him.

Stranger Than Fiction

This is set in the 1930s in a village in Ganjam, Odisha, India.
-----

Thak-Thak! Thak-Thak!
Thump! Thump!
Hearing the banging on his window, Hariprasad was woken up from his slumber.

His friend, Natu, often did this at dawn to awaken Hariprasad.
The two would then set out to plow their agricultural land.

But, that particular dawn no-moon (Amavasya) night, it appeared Natu had arrived earlier than usual as when Hariprasad opened his window, it was still dark outside. It appeared darker as there was no moon. It was a cloudy night & there were no stars too.

"Natu, you don't sleep or what? It's not yet dawn and you woke me up!"
Natu just mumbled, "Hmmm."

Natu was walking at a faster-than-usual pace and a still-drowsy Hariprasad followed him to the field.

"Natu, Let's draw the water from the well first. But, it's pitch-dark & still we have to fill the pitchers."

So saying hardly had Hariprasad handed a pitcher, when Natu had filled it in a jiffy!
Hariprasad found it pretty unusual.
All the pitchers were filled in no time.

Where Are You From?

So, where are you from?
This figures in a conversation where people are meeting for the first time and want to know where others are from.

I understand that people are keen to know about our place of origin.
Whenever I am encountered with such a question, I answer- 'India'.
Then, after they give me an ofcourse-I-know-you-are-from-India look, I am further questioned, where in India?

Xerophyte

Tip-Tip-Tip-Tip-Tippity-Tippity-Tap-Tap...
The rain & its sounds give them much delight.
As they revel in its wonders, dance & do rap,
It doesn't mean much to me as I'm a xerophyte*.

What's celebration for them, is taboo for me,
Their requirements have been different from mine,
That monsoons are nature's gift I very much agree.
Yet, despite rain-deficiency, a xerophyte like me is fine.

I Am Enough

I noticed her presence some years ago.
She watched me whether I was high or low.

Every move I made, she analyzed with glee.
I tried to confront this girl & reveal the mystery.

But, she always disappeared & I couldn't locate,
Irrespective of my quick reflexes & mental state.

Dads Of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. And Chinky

The movie Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is special and the protagonist is one of my favourite movie characters.

On Father's Day eve, I watched the movie for the umpteenth time and noticed the adorable Dads in the movie:

Dad#1- Munna Bhai/Murli Prasad Sharma's father - Hari Prasad Sharma - played by Sunil Dutt

Dad#2- Chinky/Dr. Suman's father - Dr. JC Asthana - played by Boman Irani

Dad#3- Dr.Rustam's father (who loves playing Carrom-board & is always  after the Queen!)

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., 2003 Hindi film poster.jpg

In the movie, there are heart-warming and touching scenes between father and "child" & Dad#1 & Dad#2 shed silent tears.

It seemed like yesterday when he was trying to learn to play the Piano, in vain.

Spill The Beans

"Spill the beans!" they demanded of me urgently.

I had no beans to spill actually, couldn't they see?

I just know how to cook & eat beans tastefully.

I had wandered across the border unintentionally;

But, the adamant police just didn't believe this refugee...
