Choose Life, Don't Give Up

Life is indeed about the choices we make,
And also the life-changing decisions we take.

Life is about the path we choose to travel-
Can make the difference between heaven & hell...

Yell Sound, Shetland, 2014, by R.A.D. Stainforth
Taking a proper decision can prove to be tough,
What seems correct now, may later be rough.

Who decides what is right & wrong under the sun?
"One man's meat is another man's poison"...

Once  we have decided to sail, we must be brave.
We must save & not give up no matter how grave.

We may rue our fate & feel why we are in that situation.
Take help, my friend, don't resign to suicide/depression.

Life is for living & the anchor & control is in our hands.
We have limited time like that of an hourglass's sands...

We just have one life & not nine like that of a cat!
Choose life, don't give up without a fight, just like that...

This is my first contribution to the prompt thanks to Soumya.

Note-
'Depression' statistics is depressing.
Recently claimed yet another victim- the acclaimed-actor, Robin Williams.

Had been planning to write a positive poem & got my trigger while commenting for my Blogger-friend Seeta's post- Do we need to have it all?

If you liked this poem, you'll also like two of my previous poems:
My Decision
&
Learn, Hope & Cope.

May we all decide to learn, hope & cope, rather than choose to make Depression the winner...

  1. Loved it and it does in so many ways say exactly what I wanted to with my post. Loved to see how prose and poetry can work to substantiate the same thought :)

  11. SO RIGHT.. decsions we think are right now may not be so in the years to come .. but then that is LIFE . priorities change , ideas chage, the way we look at things changes hence the right decision now may not be so right later ..

lovely little poem Anita .. some of the hard truths of life :)

  12. Every decision is both right and wrong! It is true what Bikram says! But I think you should take decisions for the right reasons, with love and respect for the people around you.
