The New Bride

When the new bride entered their home after marriage, she was in for scrutiny.
The once lush green trees shed all their leaves overnight.

The guests and neighbours discussed in hushed whispers.
"Such a bad sign!", "Is she a witch?", "This family is doomed."
Everyone gave the new bride a dirty look.

She never stopped being awesome and continued radiating her inner glow.
She knew that just like the ghosts, on those trees, had attained salvation, her presence would bring in tremendous change.

Soon, the trees started sporting new leaves again.
The nearly-dead rose-bush gifted two roses for the bride.
