That Girl In The Portrait

She was visiting the fair when she saw some paintings.

The biggest one was a true-to-life painting of a beautiful girl.

Despite wearing sunglasses, she instantly identified that girl in the portrait.

She knew the artist too.

Photo Prompt- Brenda Cox

He was busy with his works and customers.

"She looks like a goddess! Is this painting of a real person?"

Everyone was appreciating that portrait.

"Yes, she is a real person."

"Share her contact details please!"

"She lives in my heart and mind!"

She realized that he still loves her.

She was right behind… yet another face in the crowd of his admirers.

100 Words story for the Friday Fictioneers

Who do you think she was? What happens next?
Have you ever met a talented artist?

Wishing everyone a great 2022!

  1. I wonder if she'll be able to resist letting him know she's there

  2. "Yet another face in the crowd of his admirers." That sums up her difficulty, I suspect. Does she believe in herself enough to remind him of what they once shared?

  3. Perhaps she could become the one he admires as well as just an admirer...

  4. If she still feels something for him, she should tell him, otherwise better keep hidden.

  5. I see this moment as a turning point in some way. Change is about to come.

  6. Beautiful and tragic at the same time.

  7. Aval avan uyirin uyir (She was his life’s life)

  8. A very charming story of sadness with some glimmer of hope for love. Well done.

  9. If she's still single she should reveal herself.

  10. I wonder if she loved him, too. And why they are no longer together. Lots of questions that need answers :)

  11. I wonder what would have happened if you'd had another 20 words! A lovely story nonetheless, Anita.

  12. Dear Anita,

    Bittersweet story

  13. Very hard for her to express her true feelings in these circumstances. Perhaps she's better off staying in the crowd. Maybe he will notice her.

  14. I wonder why she feels the need to remain hidden...

  15. There is a deeper story here. You left us wondering.

  16. was it really the artist's imagination or was he afraid to acknowledge?

Your words mean a lot to me.
