Truth Wins?

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

Spicy Saturday
This Post is BlogAdda's Spicy Saturday Pick. Delighted as it's my very first Post to earn this after months of my effort!

They accused me of what I hadn't done.
Was it their idea of revenge or sadistic fun?

Why can't people verify facts? I have no clue.
Before accusing, at least make sure it's true!

The baseless allegations weighed me down.
Their bad blatant untruths made me frown.

My integrity and character received a jolt.
Malicious taunts were like thunder-bolt...

How could I shut their mouths or convince?
Friends assured me to relax as truth wins...

In KalYug, 'Satyameva Jayate'^ is a joke surely.
In TretaYug, Mata Sita* was targeted unfairly.

Goddess couldn't be saved from slander...
What better fate for a mere mortal? I wonder...

Agni Pariksha

Ironical that the one who is worshipped today,
Accepted the Agni Pariksha that came her way.

Yet Mata Sita was disenchanted after victory,
She quit Shri Ram's* world & set herself free...

Mata Sita preferred to go back to Mother Earth

Lord Vishnu's avatar* allowed this for His wife.
What can ordinary humans hope from life?!

Note-

^Satyameva Jayate- Truth always wins
*Mata Sita, Shri Ram, Lord Vishnu's avatar - From the Ramayana, a great Hindu epic.

  2. When Sita was not spared, how can we mere mortal women be?

I loved the use of mythology in this poem. I absolutely loved it!

Mata Sita wasn't spared despite being so perfect & being the wife of the perfect man! We mortal women can't even dream to be close...

  3. There are a lot of incidents in all religious texts that show characters being treated unfairly. Sometimes makes me wonder whether we should ever expect justice.

But, they say that God is watching & 'Bhagwaan ke ghar mein der hai, andher nahi...'
So, hope is alive that some day there will be a Judgment Day & justice...

  4. so true.. if the lords and god did that what will a comman man do .. I hope when people say men-women are equal they mean itthat way and not just say for the sake of saying ..

Using mythology - perfect.. but then this mythology is also a bane as people say GOD did that , so its right

    Sad sad situation ..

Humans look to Gods as example. if God has done so, then it's perfect!
Hope there's no injustice - either to Gods/humans & all is well.

Great minds think alike & even post on the same day- 15 May :)
I read your poem and find even you have the Ramayana reference though of the 3 Brothers- Ram, Lakshman & Bharat. Valid points discussed.

True. Mata Sita didn't deserve such treatment. Unfortunately, that's still prevalent even in this age...

  10. I would say it is feministic point of view and 'they' in the poem could be developed - they could be patriarchy or anyone against equality for women. I guess you can imagine about this other they in your further poems. all the best.

  17. congrats on spicy Saturday pick and top post!!! you are getting so good at this...loved the poem. :) the minute an accusation is made on a woman, be it true or false...no one waits for an explanation or gives a benefit of doubt...its just sad. Rumours and gossip mongers only make things worse. And the woman is left helpless!!

      Yes, that's the unfortunate reality.
Shri Ram allowed the injustice. If in that age a God can allow it for His wife- a Goddess, what better can an ordinary woman of today expect?

  19. How can a DHARMIC DACORIAN law having Religious sanctity be declared an ADHARM , without Sita getting Physically involved in it............THINK..>>>>>THINK, then answer .

VALMIKI RAMAYAN contains lot of additions, alterations made subsequently and accepting the fact that Ramayan, Mahabharat, and all Puraans are also coded, the history that they contain, actually has to be culled out.

RAMCHARITMANAS written by Goswami Tulsidas Ji, also followed the same pattern except that it ignored altogether, the incident of disownment of Sita.

When Shri Ram took Avatar, all important events in which he was involved, as Human, would provide a Dharm. Agni Pariksha is one such event which Shri Ram established EITHER as DHARM or ADHARM…I WANT YOUR ANSWER ON THIS ISSUE.

Hindus by and large are afraid to accept Shri Ram as human incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Once we accept Shri Ram as Avatar, who came on this earth for establishing Dharm, we then have to start looking at all important events in which he was involved differently and to find what the Dharm was, which HE tried to establish.

Now the question is Why do you want to look for supernatural powers in history where NONE exists?

NOW the answer: GO and read full post after clicking on the link and you will know how Agnii Pariksha was declared as ADHARM.

    Excerpts from the post:

‘King Ram REJECTED the results of Agni Pariksha and held that the only time when Sita was on her own, free to make her own decision, and under no duress, was when she was alone in Panchvati. Her decision to cross the Lakshman Rekha, without the use of any external force, can also be construed as her consent to go with Ravana. He also observed, that after his victory over Ravana, none of the action of Sita can be construed to be her own free decision and without any duress. He further said that it is true that, as a King, it is difficult to reject the result of Agni Pariksha, because it has religious sanctity, but he would like to go with People’s representative in as much that although Agni Pariksha required special skills, but those skills in no way certify the loyalty or chastity of the lady. He DISOWNED SITA AND TOLD HER TO GO WHERE EVER SHE DESIRED TO GO.

‘He also declared that hence forth Agni Pariksha will not be used for certifying or testifying the loyalty or chastity of a female. Use of Agni Pariksha will be deemed to be an act of ADHARM and NOT an act of dharm, he declared. He also declared that if ever he became a Chakravarti Samraat (one whose writ runs all across the globe), he would make sure that such dastardly acts are never performed by humanity in all ages and yugs. ‘
