Spring In The Air, Spring In My Voice

Spring is in the air, and so much delight!

I feel like singing my heart out & share-

Buried melodies that should see the light!

Sweet new songs for all, expressing my care!

They may label me fol-de-rol or frippery,

Even complain about my voice or words!

Will it hurt my tender heart & bother me?

Spring in my step, I'll exercise my vocal-chords!

The Castle

The tourist guide showed the castle.

Anya instantly recognized it.

An overwhelming sense of familiarity gripped her.

"Do the red flowers still bloom in the garden?"

Before the guide could answer, she made her way via a secret door behind the cupboard.

Everyone followed her.

Life In Four Images

 "WHAT IS LIFE?"

I attended a class on "awakening your inner resilience" this weekend organized by the Brahamakaris, and the teacher asked this question about life.

Many answers came to my mind.

I will be sharing more about life in my previous posts.

While sorting my email folder today, I came across an old email sent by my friend Kalyani with the subject- "LIFE IN FOUR PHOTOGRAPHS".

It had the following four images and some words about the four.

It is said, "Pictures speak more than a thousand words."

Life has many images and videos, and memories that suddenly make us relive moments.

Life is to be lived one moment at a time, till the party goes on.

Cheers to life!

18 Lessons From The Bhagavad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita is the most sacred text for the Hindus.

It is a part of the great epic, Mahabharata.

Shree Krishna imparted valuable lessons to Arjuna in the Kurukshetra battlefield, covering a variety of topics.

The Gita has answers to what a soul seeks, rendered with authority by none other than the Creator Himself.

The best part is that it is documented, and even after thousands of years, it is relevant and precious.

According to me, the most important takeaway from the Gita is-

Focus on the work; not the reward.

Action is yours; results are not.

I keep reminding myself this-

The Gita has 18 Chapters.

The following 18 lines share a summary of the 18 chapters-

Can I OR I Can?

Many times we wonder- "Can I"?

Can I do it?

Can I make it?

Simply changing the position of the words & replacing "Can I?" with "I Can", makes a world of difference.

CAN I?

OR

I CAN!

We convert an interrogative sentence to an assertive one.

From negativity to positivity, we replace doubt with confidence.

Everything is possible if we believe we can.

"Sooner or later the person who wins is the person who thinks she can."

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are right!

Numbers Game

Numbers and more numbers, just using 10 digits!

0-9 can create huge numbers, out of our wits!

It is a numbers game; & all are ready to play-

We deal with numbers big & small every day.

Even before we are born, there's constant tracking,

Whether full-term or premature & what's lacking!

Day1 of our Planet Earth appearance brings joy,

For some, more if there's the birth of a boy!

Power To Power

I was busy typing using my phone.

The phone battery charge showed "low battery" charge message.

Frequent phone users are well aware, can understand this case, having experienced such situations many times.

My phone was connected to the laptop.

Why was the charge reducing?

Coz I watched a video on my mobile?

But, it was connected to the laptop for charging; so why the message?

That's when I checked the laptop-
The battery was low there!

If the laptop does not have charge, how will it charge others?

I immediately plugged the laptop charger into the power-supply and switched it on.

The laptop 's battery started charging.

And then my phone that was still connected to the laptop, started getting recharged too!

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated Not on The Chaturthi

The title of this post may surprise some. How can Ganesh Chaturthi be celebrated on a day that is not the Chaturthi tithi? But, sadly, some have been doing this for some festivals like- the Ratha Jatra. I would say that this is the Indian festval that has had flagrant violations with hundreds of Ratha Jatra being celebrated worldwide on multiple days and dates. As is known by those who know- most of our festivals are qassociated with tithi- that is the auspicious time for celebration. And this has been the case for hundreds of years. Then, how and why are some so enthusistic about celebrating on any and every day? Things do not and should not run by some individuals' whims and fancies. As per this report in the Moneycontrol, Indian devotees celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in Paris. The viral videos stir immigration debate: https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/trends/indian-devotees-celebrate-ganesh-chaturthi-in-paris-viral-videos-stir-immigration-debate-14019208.html This celebration raises several questions- Should we have to do this? Keeping the date issue aside, do we have to make our presence felt this way and self-invite to become the target of jokes and criticism, and worse become despicable and hated? Just because of the irresponsible actions of some, the entire community/society/nation gets branded. At least celebrate on the right date. And celebrate decently- not by setting an example -" what not to do". Feeling so terrible to see the images. Why did not any of the Indians object? So many joined in the mindless revelry! And some are supporting them stating this is Indian cultural promotion! May enlightenment dawn on them! By doing so, aren't we alienating others? Eiffel Tower and Paris city attracts the highest number of tourists of the world. What would have been their impression to see such drama? What do you think might have happened to the plans of those who would have been perhaps considering to visit "Incredible India"? So unfair that our nation should be projected in poor light because of such deshdrohis. Yes, that is the word for them.Like selfish terrorists, their self wish is important for them- even at the cost of our nation :( May Shree Ganesha give sense and knowledge to such people. Jaya Shree Ganesha.

Last Cup Of Tea

 LAST CUP OF TEA

(Based on a True Story:)

------------------------

Pune Station, 2018

There was a tea stall just outside Pune railway station.

The owner was Ramesh Anna- 62 years old, with one disabled leg.

He would open his stall every morning at 5:00 AM and close it at 11:00 PM.

A cup of tea cost 5 rupees... and came with one complimentary thing: a "Smile."

People would come, drink tea, talk for 10 minutes, and leave with a lighter heart.

Someone once told him, "Anna, you are a psychiatrist."
