The Picnic

"Mom, please let me go for the school picnic!"
It was her last year at school.
Mona was hopeful that her mother would finally give her the permission.
It was now or never.

"But, Mona, it's a place that you have already seen! Haven't we visited that tourist-spot so many times?"
Mona didn't argue.

She knew the horror her mom went through every time anyone uttered the 'picnic' word.
Mona felt guilty.

The next morning, seeing her mother ready to go somewhere, Mona asked, "Where are you going?"

"Family picnic".

Mother and daughter enjoyed their maiden picnic on their terrace.

  3. Was the school taking the kids for a picnic during lock-down? No wonder the mum didn't let her.
