What They Wore At Cannes 2022

A prestigious international film festival like the Cannes means a lot to many- for the celebrities, the media and the paparazzi, the brands and sponsors, the participants and guests, and the general public.

Anne Hathaway

The public likes to check out what their favourite personalities had worn. Of course, this is possible due to the over-enthusiastic media and influencers.
While looking at the photographs and videos of this year's festival posted on Twitter, I wondered about a lot of things. Where to from here?

Some top actresses of India were dressed in elaborate gowns and looked like western fairy-tale princesses.

Cinderella must have looked like this at the ball? Which of the following is your favourite?

Graceful Style Of My Own

Ever since I learnt my name- Anita's meaning,
My confidence shot up & I started grinning :D
I believed that as my name means 'Graceful',
I can carry off any & every style & be blissful!

Jeans or Leggings with a simple top or Kurti,
Traditional Lehnga, Salwar-suit or Saree pretty...
Mix and match Indian with Western wear & fusion,
I carry off styles; charting new paths with no confusion!

Fabrics, prints and colors all are wonderful.
The choice is amazing; the range is soulful!
I pick whether its cotton, silk or chiffon!
Deciding my style as per occasion is real fun!

Whether it's to a party, office or amusement park,
I choose my own style and happily embark!
I'm willing to change, experiment & do lots more!
I earn cool compliments when I enter any door!

Be Indian

Being a proud Indian, I support using Indian products.
I too believe in the "Be Indian, Buy Indian, Use Indian, Wear Indian" concept.
We need to uphold our sense of nationalism & flaunt Indian clothes with pride & style. When foreigners visit our India, they should get a feel of our "national costumes".

Sad that most of our youngsters are casually dressed in western-wear & do not wear Indian-clothes most of the time...

It's also true that many are more Indian than we think. Here are some examples - REAL, REEL & RHYME.

The following are some of my ideas how to share the "Be Indian" message-
