The Morning After

Rizy was sure she had seen that staircase before.
She tried to remember, but her memory failed her.
Why did everything appear blurry?

Though she had gracefully ascended up the stairs, the descent seemed tough.
She realized it should have been the other way round.
Rizy was conscious of her realisation.
If her brain was fine, why was she in such a fix?

Though Rizy visited the staircase often, why did she find herself answering queries?

She kept a pad and pencil with her intending to take notes when she saw it again.

Rizy was a story-writer the morning after.

100 Words fiction for Friday Fictioneers.

What do you make of the 'morning after' story?
What do you think Rizy's story was about?
Do you keep a pad and pencil with you when you go to sleep? Do you remember your dreams?

  2. So often I've wished I'd scribbled down my dreams before they disappeared. I could be a best selling author by now!

    Here's mine!

  3. Dear Anita,

Dreams...we all have them. Do they all have to mean something?

    Shalom,

  6. Dreams. Understanding them is like trying to put your thumb on a tomato seed :)

  7. A good story no doubt.
Often I get dreams for a good story complete in itself but hardly remember anything the next day.The pad and pencil should help especially in this advanced age when I forget what was spoken a few hours before!!

  8. Strange dreams don't often lead to stories, in my experience. Shame!

  9. Dreams sometimes remain in memory and sometimes go blank. An intersting story with the waywardness of mind
