Escape Into Freshness with Ambi Pur Car

It was my Kid’s Birthday Party. She had been planning for it for the last one year! This time she wanted to celebrate it at the Mall. “We’ll call everyone over to the City Centre- II for Lunch”, she had announced long back. That is the nearest Mall to our home, about 20 minutes away by Car. She had invited her friends – ages 5-10 years old. Some would be directly reaching the Mall, while 4 others would be reaching our home first and then travelling with us there. Once the party would be over, we were to drop these 4 kids to their homes. My Hubby & I love implementing our child’s plans!

On D-Day, after the kids had played games, eaten snacks and had drunk cold-drinks, we all (Hubby & I+ Birthday Girl + 4 Friends) set out to start for the Mall in our Car. The moment I entered our Car, I remembered what I had missed!

Our Car had been under lock for the past one month as my Hubby was out-of-town for work, while I was happily using public-transport in the city! Hubby had landed up that morning for our daughter’s Birthday celebration.

Opening the Car after all these days, let out a musty, damp, ancient and unwelcoming smell. I had forgotten to get Ambi Pur refill for our Car...

My Hubby loves his Car a lot. It’s a second home for him.

I love our Car too when it has Ambi Pur Fragrance!

I felt irresponsible that I had not taken care of his precious Car in his absence and we had this unpleasant smell in store…

My hubby loves Perfumes & has always gifted me lots to make me a Smellionaire (Smells+Millionaire)! He certainly deserved Ambi Pur refill...

I would have liked our guests, the little girls, to smell nice smells like flowers inside our Car...

All of us quickly settled in our Car. Hubby was in the Driver’s Seat, while I occupied the front seat next to him & our daughter sat with her 4 friends at the back-seat. Though I requested one of the kids to come and sit on my lap, none of them agreed. They were having popcorn when one of the younger kids, started coughing badly at the back-seat. I offered Water & blamed it to the Smelly Car-interiors. Or perhaps it was the cramming of 5 kids at the back-seat or the 'talking-while-eating'-Popcorn...

Then, the same coughing-kid VOMITED. Yes, right inside the Car much to the discomfiture of all… The girls screamed & felt 'yucky'.
Luckily, no other girls’ clothes were affected. I handed over all the Dry and Wet-Tissue-Papers that I had in my purse. I strategically placed a newspaper over the Vomit. Hubby wanted to drive back home. But, when I called up the kid’s Mom, she said she was out of home then & asked us not to waste any of our time; rather proceed for the Party. She assured us that she would arrive at the Mall with a fresh set of clothes for her kid!

We continued our journey.
I switched on the FM Radio. The peppy song 'Yuhi Kat Jayega Safar Saath Chalne Se' from the Hindi Film 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke' was playing.

Translated into English, the said song means- 'The journey shall be over when we travel together...'

The Mall was just few minutes away, still the foul smell made it appear as if a looong road lay ahead!

I remembered Einstein’s explanation of the term- Relativity-
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S Relativity.”

There were pretty girls in our Car, but the foul ‘Vomit’ smell was like hot stove

We reached the pre-reserved place at the Mall to celebrate a gala Birthday Party- Cake, Fun, Music, Games, Food... The post-Vomit-kid also enjoyed as she was now feeling better having changed into a fresh dress that her mother had brought.

My Kid's Party was over in the afternoon. Now was the time to make our way back. I felt nauseated at the very prospect of having to travel in that Smelly Car.

I asked myself, “How will we ever travel in that Smelly Car? Gosh! We even have to leave the kids at the other end of the city!”

To our great surprise, there was no trace of any foul smells in the car at all! Rather, there was a floral fragrance! The girls loved it!

I knew it was my Hubby's endeavour! He had slipped out of the Party to buy Ambi Pur Mini Vent Clips from the Mall! Hubby had fitted them in the Car & then returned to the Party!

I soon got the answer!
It was Lavender!

Pampering our Car with Ambi Pur Lavender Comfort is great!
I noticed Ambi Pur Mini Vent Clips snugly fitted in our Car's AC Vent.

It was refreshing to be greeted by a fragrant Car! It was a great #FreshNHappy Experience

My Hubby, said, "As per a recent study, ‘Lavender is the most popular scent worldwide’."

I fell in love with our Car’s driver a lot more! Hubby seems to know how to make everything so special! He had picked Ambi Pur generously!

I switched on the Car's FM Radio- 'Titanic' Movie’s Song was playing.
Celine Dion sang ‘My Heart will go on and on’...

With Ambi Pur Mini Vent Clip in our Car, and Hubby by my side, my heart wished the road ‘will go on and on'!
Our Birthday Girl and her friends were thrilled too. Our kid felt even Ambi Pur is her birthday gift! We dropped the girls in their homes at the other end of the city comfortably with fresh fragrance for company! This was my
#FreshNHappy Experience!
I noticed that as it was tough for my Hubby to pick one variety of Ambi Pur, he had purchased them all!
I thought- 'The more the merrier!'

I noted the following about the Ambi Pur Mini Vent Clip:
A) Mini - Size is Mini & Compact!
B) Looks Great - Neat, Cute and Smart!
C) No-Leak Technology - Releases the fragrance at a sustained rate.
D) Control/Life Regulation - Depending on requirement, we can control the fragrance to adjust the amount of scent released- strong or subtle. (At lowest setting, it lasts for 30 days.)

F) Easy To Use - Just fit it, adjust the scent and let it work its magic!
G) Advanced Odour Elimination Technology - Truly freshens the whole Car!
H) 5 Amazing Choices of Fragrance - Pick any one of the following:

1) Lavender Comfort- Makes us feel so comfortable and calms nerves, just what it was doing right now in our Car!
Lavender is derived from the Latin word 'Herba' meaning 'green crops'.

2) New Zealand Springs- This floral smell is healing! The name reminds me of the Hindi-movie 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' that was shot in NZ! I wanted to sing the movie's title song for this Fragrance!

3) Sky Breeze- A light yet effective soothing fragrance that lingers and encompasses our brain, just like the sky spreads out in all its glory!

4) Light Citrus- I love the fruity smell of Citrus that makes the heart jump with happiness! Its perky fragrance calls for a #FreshNHappy Experience!

5) Thai Dragon Fruit- As I smelled this, I imagined my Thai Trip & plans to visit Thailand again! I had loved all the Thai flavors there...This amazing smelling fragrance is another fruity favorite!

RHYMED CONFUSION

Wilma was a young, talented and accomplished lady. She had done her parents proud by winning the ‘Emerging Witch Award’ recently. Yes, Wilma was a Witch!

Wilma’s parents wanted to get her married to a very smart and handsome Wizard named Wilbur.

“You both will make a perfect pair & create great spells together!” they tried to convince.

Wilma would listen to none of such conversation.

“Don’t talk to me about marriage! I am busy for the next one year! I have to win the ‘Miss Universe Witch Award’!”

The Miss Universe Witch Award was the most prestigious Award for young Witches. The Witch with the best and most innovative spell would win it.

Wilma was concentrating all her efforts for it. She decided, “I will create something that no one has even thought.” She listed all what she needed for the perfect spell.

One day, she told her Dad, “Please get me a Lizard.”

She needed a Lizard’s tail that regenerates itself for her spell.

Her Dad mistook it for ‘Wizard’!

“Ah! My daughter wants to finally get married to the Wizard!” He was overjoyed!

Date was fixed for Wilbur, the Wizard’s visit to their home!

When Wilma met Wilbur & Wilbur met Wilma, love-at-first-sight spell worked!

Wilbur, the Wizard, helped Wilma, the Witch, to bag the Miss Universe Witch Award that too minus the tail of a Lizard!

They were soon married and created many winning spells!

No Confusion! Great Combination!

The Great Beginning

Newly married couple, Lisa & Jai were in the USA for Jai’s official assignment there. As Jai was always busy with work, Lisa had kept herself busy for the last 4 months of their stay there by frequenting libraries on her own.

Lisa never spent much money as she believed in saving! Jai teased her that she’s a Kanjoos (miser)! Lisa would buy all the items from the Indian Store there and prepare food at the apartment they had rented.
There was this Indian Restaurant named ‘Taj Mahal’ that she used to often cross on her way to the Library. One day, Lisa just dropped in there to enquire about the prices. For the past couple of days, she had a craving for South Indian Food and thought she would get that night’s meal parceled. She abandoned all her plans as Lisa was SHOCKED to learn of the prices!

A quick conversion of the value from Dollar to Rupee & Lisa decided- “No way am I gonna spend so much on Idli & Sambar!” Lisa went to the Indian Store to pick the ingredients having decided to prepare as per online help-resources! But, the store did not have ‘Hing’ (Asafoetida). Lisa loved Hing and was disappointed. Nevertheless, she got the other items that she needed. Lisa prepared the Idli Batter and decided to prepare Idlis for the weekend Breakfast the next day.

That night, Lisa was probably dreaming of Indian Sambar, when she muttered in her sleep- “I want Hing.”
Jai was working on his laptop when he heard Lisa…”What? Lisa wants ‘Ring’?” Jai thought.

She said ‘Hing’; He Heard ‘Ring’.

Jai was surprised. How did Lisa know about the Ring? He had just bought that expensive Diamond Ring that evening and had hidden it in his briefcase. There was no way Lisa could have found it or known anything about it…The Ring was meant to be a surprise…

Jai had bought the Ring not for Lisa but for Shuvika- his colleague and best-friend, whom he had wanted to marry. However, Jai had to settle for an arranged marriage with Lisa, bowing to parental pressure. But, Shuvika was also here in the USA and she had no problems getting the full-attention of Jai. In fact, it was she who had demanded that Jai gift a Diamond Ring for her birthday that was the next day!

Lisa was now sleeping peacefully. No more sleep-talking… Lisa looked like an angel. Jai started thinking of the sweet girl who was now his wife. She was a great home-maker and cared for him and his finances. She made him feel like a King. She was a great listener… Lisa never made any demands. And look at him! He had blown up nearly 2 months salary to pick that solitaire imported Ring just to please the ‘other woman’. Did he just refer Shuvika like that? For the first time it struck Jai that Shuvika was ‘using’ him for her plans- shopping, dinners, long-drives, late-night outings… Jai remembered the countless number of times, Shuvika had sweet-talked him and made demands and he had obliged as he was in ‘love’!

He may have been blinded by her love, but everything made sense now. Jai’s eyes were wide open!
“Lisa deserves the Ring more. Only Lisa has full right on me, my time and my earnings as she is my wife!” Jai reasoned.
“I’ll gift the Ring to Lisa the first thing in the morning!” he decided.
Though his guilt made it tough to fall asleep, Jai snuggled up with Lisa and slept.

Tomorrow is another day…

Phata Poster Nikla Hero

Note- Safe to Read! (No Spoiler Alert!) This review does not have the entire story!

The Story, Screenplay, Dialogues & Direction of the Hindi film- Phata Poster Nikla Hero (PPNH) is by Raj Kumar Santoshi.

PPNH’s HERO is Vishwaas Rao (Shahid Kapoor) who dreams to be ‘Filmo Ka Hero’ (Movie-Actor). Vishwaas has set his lofty goal right from his school-days.

Vishwaas’s Mom (Padmini Kolhapuri) wants him to be an ‘Imaandar (honest) Police-Officer’. An auto-driver and a single-mother, she wants the very best for her son. When the Pehelwaan (wrestler) promises to train him- ‘Akele Dus Ka Saamna Karega’ (He can face 10 people alone), she asks, “Sirf Dus?” (Only 10?!)

The grown-up Vishwaas makes his entry to save a damsel-in-distress by literally tearing the poster of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani!
Abhi to sirf Hero ne Entry maari hai, aagey aagey dekh hota hai kya!” (The Hero has just made his entry, see what happens next!)
Ek ek karke mat aana; sab saath mein aana; Mere paas time nahi hai!” (Don’t come one by one; all of you come together; I don’t have time!)

He bashes up the baddies like a super-hero and protects the izzat (honor) of the girl! And if you thought all this might be a Ghazab (strange) dream from which our Hero will soon wake up, you are terribly mistaken! Vishwaas is a real-life Hero who dreams to be a reel-life Hero!

Unfortunately, his Maa Ka Sapna (Mom’s Dream) comes in between. Even his finest acting and ‘sad news-stories’ can’t deter his Mom’s iron-will. She keeps sending him for Police-recruitment interviews, while he keeps getting rejected!

When Vishwaas gets a chance to land up at Mumbai, he meets ‘Complaint Kajal’ (Ileana D’Cruz) who mistakes him for a Police-officer due to his ‘costume’! She makes him follow a car that has kidnapped the Chief-Security Officer (CSO), Bhim Singh Thapa’s daughter. Despite a chance encounter with his idol, Film-Star Salman Khan (as himself in a cameo), nevertheless, Vishwaas manages to free the girl as the goons run away.

What follows is a hilarious set of incidents where the fake cop – ‘Bina Brake Ka Bulldozer’ (A Bulldozer without any brakes) manages 'Heroine ke saath romance' (Romances the Heroine) & 'Villains ke saath fight' (Fights the Villains) & earns respect for the Mumbai police force with Jt. Commissioner Khare (Darshan Jariwala) at helm. Mission WhiteElephant* is aborted much to the relief of the audience as it was serious & would have caused widespread destruction.

There are fun moments like Commisioner Khare’s scenes with Vishwaas. Imagine his shifting to the same house where Vishwaas is put up! By the way, how could Vishwaas afford such a place on rent?! Another point- Vishwaas being entrusted to pick a CD from a Music-Performance. He gets selected for the job as no one would suspect him as he knows the CSO! When he collects the CD in front of all, including the Police, I thought- CD could have been collected from the Troup from anywhere else- Hotel/Airport…why from Stage?! I guess this was opportunity for the ‘Item-Girl ke saath (Dhating) Dance’ that Vishwaas mentions at the end!

There’s never a dull moment in PPNH! There are references to Superhit movies like MunnaBhai MBBS, Don, Deewar etc. There’s comedy when one is least expecting it! Like in the Hospital when Vishwaas’s Mom is admitted and Vishwaas asks, “Vinod Khanna Doctor bhi ban gaye?!’ Santoshi gets his timing right! PPNH is a complete package- Emotions, Drama, Action, Comedy, Romance, Dances, Songs… Songs are a bit too many. But, I didn’t complain as I got to see the two very good-looking stars in good locales! The ‘Maa’ song is really touching and filmed well. The Doggy-dance ‘Khaali Peeli’ song is fun!

What I didn’t like- Two references to ‘Zahar’ (Poison)- made by a person ‘acting as a Blind-Man’ & Vishwaas’s Mom. Such a fun movie could have desisted itself from the word.

I loved- How at the end, his Maa’s wish is fulfilled as Vishwaas becomes a real-life-hero and explains all that he has done that a reel-life hero does! He even turns down a film-offer with -“Mere Paas Maa Hogi!” (I will have my Mother!) Awesome performances by the cast! The actor to watch out for is- the HERO- Shahid Kapoor. He rocks!

N.B:
Mission WhiteElephant*- My child asked, “But Mamma, if Mission White Elephant is successful, then no one will be saved…not even the Mission’s Planners!” Perhaps the Planners planned to leave the city and get saved! Truth is, no one in this world can be saved from the effect, if any such thing really happens! I'm NOT telling you any more than this!!!

Do watch PPNH! Worth the good laughs!
(My Rating- 3.5 *s)

The movie even ends with the catchy song- ‘Let’s Go Bananas!’
So, ready to ‘go bananas’?!
