Am I Ready?

"Are You Ready?"

"Am I Ready?"

"Is It Ready?"

How often have we pondered what to answer when posed these three words.

Questions hit us whether it concerns the submission of a paper, a report or project, or getting ready for a function, etc. usually when there is less time...

We are most conscious when we are attempting something for the very first time, say, taking the driving test, or an exam that means a lot.

No amount of preparation can actually make us truly ready.

People solve mock-tests, and go through several drills, but being ready or preparation-level is known only when we are actually doing it- and facing what means everything.

Many times we learn on the way with the help and support of many teachers.

On-the-job training is there, and there is learning-on-the-job.

Job is not merely 'work' for which you get a salary or are paid.

It can mean any work or pursuit.

Experience teaches us a lot in life.

Life is a great teacher with so many exams, experiences, results etc.

As I am in the midst of submission of some important reports, I can never feel satisfied as I always feel extra is to be added, and we can do much better.

Surely, the scope to improvement is always there, and the possibilities are immense.

This will always be a work-in-progress for me, and I will continue to feel guilty for having missed out and not included information/images etc.

So the first three questions posed to me will elicit NO as my answer.

I am always ready for food though! :) Now, that is food for thought!

Recently, I came across the following post that reminded me of my current situation.

I totally agree with the views shared.

Sharing it the same way I received it-

----------------------------------------------

Rise and Shine to a New Dawn!!

For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.

 The First Attempt

There is a question that quietly delays more dreams than failure ever does.

 "Am I ready?"

The curious answer is that life rarely says, "Yes."

No one learns to swim by reading about water.

No one becomes a speaker by waiting until every word sounds perfect.

No parent has ever held a newborn and confidently declared, "I've mastered this."

Life seems to have designed its finest lessons in an unusual order.

First comes the experience.

Only then comes the understanding.

It is an arrangement that has puzzled generations and yet served them remarkably well.

Think of the first day at a new job, the first time behind the steering wheel, the first presentation, the first business venture. They all have one thing in common.

The beginning is usually untidy.

Somewhere along the way, hesitation quietly gives way to familiarity. What once demanded complete concentration gradually becomes second nature.

Life has a delightful sense of humour here.

We spend years waiting to become confident before taking the first step, only to discover that confidence was waiting for us a few steps ahead.

Perhaps that is why the most accomplished people often speak so kindly of beginners. They remember that expertise did not arrive before they started. It arrived because they started.

The road to mastery has never been paved with perfect beginnings.

It has always been built from imperfect first attempts.

Life seldom rewards those who wait to be ready. It quietly rewards those who become ready by beginning.

I remember a quote-

"Life's battles do not always go to the stronger or faster woman;

Sooner of later the woman who wins is the woman who thinks she can."

Changed the "man" to "woman" in the original quote.

Keep the hope alive and be ready to thrive!

For some things, we just have to begin and keep building even though a tiny voice doubts whether you are ready. Big buildings are constructed with a strong foundation first. Time to be ready and take ownership to create the foundation with thought and care.

What do you say?
