The High Spirited Girl

She thought herself to be lucky-

Always experimenting with art!

Their engines made her appear murky-

Like a fox & coyote, without heart.

She worked hard to sow the seeds.

Her confidence gave them the blues.

They removed her plants as weeds!

Her name joined their list of taboos.

Woman With Flowered Hat

The party was on in full swing.

Many guests had been invited.

Why did he have the empty feeling?

He was quiet though much was unsaid.

There was decoration, food and fun.

Free drinks flowed; the spirits were high!

Many indulged in animated discussion!

All fake smiles & superficiality made him sigh.

The Road To Paradise

<Now>

The road to paradise was filled with snow.

They felt blessed to finally make it though!

They danced a jig forgetting the chill!

Freezing, but being thrilled to be alive still!

The road led them to a place that was nice-

They had named their new home- "Paradise".

Wordista Creativa

She thought she knew all the words,
She felt she deserved all the awards.
The proud queen proclaimed another title for self-
'WORDISTA CREATIVA'- her latest book on shelf.

When her subjects didn't have any money,
She felt they could afford milk and honey!
And of course they could buy all what she wrote,
Her books were bestsellers; that's what she thought.

The poor public was busy trying to be savvinomical;
What 'Wordista Creativa' was doing was comical.
She wrote on multiple topics that she felt were vital-
The content had nothing to do with the book-title!

The True Student

“I have not studied”,“Left an entire chapter”,
Just before the final exam I revealed nervously,
They shook their heads & staged mock laughter.
When I tell the truth, why don’t they believe me?

The question-paper luckily had what I knew,
I figured out some questions & wrote the answers.
Tough to believe that the unread questions were few.
I wrote whatever came to my head- prose/verse!

True Treasure

"There is a priceless treasure in our backyard!" holding his hand his dying father had said.
"It must be the truth", he thought as those were the last words of his father on his death-bed.

As an enterprising twenty-year-old, he had commenced his treasure-hunt digging-job earnestly.
At age 70, even after half a century, his hard-work & quest for truth is still in progress actually.

The Fault In Our Stares

There were a lot of intentional stares & stolen glances.
As next-door-neighbours, we had plenty of chances.

His room's window overlooked mine.
This two-sided love-story seemed just fine!

He loved to stand & stare, & I did the same too.
Why we indulged in this love-sports we had no clue.

"Mere saamne waali khidki mein ek chand ka tukda rehta hai"-
He sang this Hindi movie song without fail almost everyday.

"A piece of the moon resides in the window in front of me."
I felt like a movie-star as he sang love-songs faithfully.

They said it must have been because of the fault in our stares,
On our respective walls, our photographs stare with glares.

"Zara tasveer se tu nikal ke samne aa", he's blunt.
"Please emerge out of the picture & come in front."

No one can hear our songs, smell our scent or see us revel together.
We died 7 years ago; now our pasty photos stare at each other...

I set out on my regular business & daily chore,
Looking forward to the many destinations in store.

Distinct places to visit & things to be done-
Transactions & deals to take care, much fun!

Wherever I go, they welcome me with open arms,
It's the power of my desirable personality & charms!

My delicate & pretty dress & my lithe figure excites!
For my attention, there are flirtatious signals & fights!

Time To Learn!

He travelled back in time when his daughter handed him her winner's trophy again.

It seemed like yesterday when he was trying to learn to play the Piano, in vain.

Spill The Beans

"Spill the beans!" they demanded of me urgently.

I had no beans to spill actually, couldn't they see?

I just know how to cook & eat beans tastefully.

I had wandered across the border unintentionally;

But, the adamant police just didn't believe this refugee...

Welcome To Cafe Karma

Indian Bloggers

Some time back, I borrowed money from my friend.
As I just needed a few extra rupees to spend...
Though I believe- "Never borrow & never lend,
If you want to keep a friend", yet I took from my friend.

Later, we moved to separate cities & were not in touch,
But, I did miss & remembered her many times as such.
My guilt of having borrowed, though amount wasn't much,
Nibbled my conscience; my repay-commitment was staunch.
