They had known her worth & extracted their pound of flesh,
Her knowledge, skills, ideas, even the design of her dress!
They said she's no good, after they stole & their work was done!
Instead of rewarding/mentioning/acknowledging her contribution!

They thought they had smartly driven her to the edge of the shore,
They wished the waves would consume & end her story forever!
The sun was setting, and the view was great that fateful day.
She knew she was no longer a pawn in their game anyway.
Though they stood and watched, wishing the very worst for her there,
She continued her rich magic, being her best version without a care.
Surprise of surprise! Her metamorphosis made them swear & sigh!
Their "Ugly Duckling" had turned into a graceful "Swan" flying high!
