She cooked the choicest food - his favorite dishes and waited for him to come for lunch.
When he came, she served him with love and gave him company by talking nineteen-to-the-dozen about so many events that had happened in his absence.
He never said a word in reply while he polished off all the contents of his plate and left for office.
Secretly, he wished for the evening when he would be back at home for dinner and for his wife & companion's incessant chatter...
He loved her food & loved her voice & loved to hear her speak...

ReplyDeleteThanks Soumya :) Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder :)
DeleteAll the things unsaid makes me sad for the companion, but I suppose this could be true love, the kind he doesn't need to express. Loved how much your little story made me wonder...
ReplyDeleteVery true, Priya. Even I wondered when I saw that couple... Yes, it was true love till death did them apart.

ReplyDeleteSorry, but you're the one who left a lot for us to imagine in this endeavor. WELL DONE !!!
Thank you so much for stopping by & sharing. Welcome to my space :)
