Though they were at a distance,
they made an effort to reach out.
Their arms managed to touch.
They seemed to have eyes just
for each other.
All this was evident to me- their
new neighbour.
I hoped not to cause any
obstruction.
I felt guilty to be sandwiched
between the two.
Perhaps, I was being too conscientious?
