She was staring blankly.
The lake was dry.
There was not a drop of water
anywhere.
She realized that her town was
in deep climate crisis.
She felt responsible, but just
didn't know what to do next.
That's when he came and stood
by her side.
He saw what she saw.
He could see fear in her
face.
“No worries! I'm here!"

He chose the colours, brushes and strokes.
The expert artist made her see

How would you feel if someone completes your painting and makes it come to life? Do you think this is possible? Do share in the comments below.
If only real climate crisis could be fixed with a few brushstrokes. Nice story.
ReplyDeleteWe're not responsible. Nor can we fix this one by one. But we do need the few who can show us a new picture, an alternate future
ReplyDeleteDear Anita,
ReplyDeleteI think it will take more than an artist to fix the climate crisis.
Shalom,
Rochelle
If only we could resolve it by drawing it better ...
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Na'ama
If only it was that simple! As for someone else completing my painting - no way!
ReplyDeleteIf only it were that simple!
ReplyDeleteI would not want anyone to finish my painting unless I had died. Same with my book. MY book! Hands off!
ReplyDeleteA really interesting take on the prompt, thank you. I wouldn't mind if someone finished my painting as I can't draw. My writing though, that's a different story!
ReplyDeleteYour story is the best kind, Anita. I love it.
ReplyDeleteNice story.
ReplyDeleteI'm still afraid of climate change.
Great concept. It could really go places.
ReplyDeleteAh, if only...
ReplyDeleteTaking this as a metaphor, there can be times of drought in your spiritual or emotional life when you need someone expert to guide your actions. When that happened to me, yes, I allowed someone to help me learn better ways of thinking about life.
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful if we could fix the climate issues with a few brush strokes. I wouldn't mind if someone finished my work if they did so with my permission. Nicely done!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Greta Thunberg should take up painting! Nice one.
