How beautiful is the sea!
Sometimes it is calm;
Sometimes it is wild.
So full of mystery!
The nature of the sea reflects-
The human nature to me…
This was the first poem I ever wrote in my life - 'The Sea'.
Expecting publication in my school-mag, I submitted keenly.
My high hopes ebbed when it was NOT selected mysteriously.
Thanks Poetry Jam: The Sea for this topic & opportunity luckily!
This is a sweet poem Anita. I can't understand why a school mag wouldn't publish it. Your school must have some great poets. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting your own Domain name. :)
Thanks Kiran!
DeleteThe selectors had their own reasons & didn't consider this!
I felt it deserves publication :) Now I got to publish it here :)
Such a lovely comparison between human nature and sea, really both are mysterious.

DeleteIt is superb! Wondering why didn't they select it for the magazine! Is it that they didn't realise the depth of it or were they looking for rhyming words only?
ReplyDeleteGlad that you didn't stop there... Else this world would have missed an awesome writer... TC dear... Keep smiling :)
I guess they wanted rhyming words. Now that I write good rhymes, I should qualify :)
